# What makes you content about life is different from what make you happy in a moment
- [Kahneman](https://youtu.be/w3NkR7xZR-A "https://youtu.be/w3NkR7xZR-A") says that the things that affect our moods/short-term happiness are not the same as that which affect our life-satisfaction (i.e., longer term)- I think this links to some of his observations on people wanting experiences but not if they can't have memories of the experience.
- This is because people's tastes change so the same thing can affect moods differently.
- He points to focusing illusion, where one prioritises/values something in their present focus more than they actually care about it.
