Welcome to the public display of some of my writing.
## Getting the why out of the way early
Two reasons for why I am starting to write publicly:
1. Embracing imperfection: I am impressed (and inspired) by folks like Tyler Cowen, who posts a blog every day. Writing something every single day brings benefits (personal and professional). For example, I found it helpful to articulate why I build some of the software tools/apps so I could sustain my energy by reading how motivated I was (and thus maybe can become again, many years later, as well).
2. Perhaps the "a**c**t of writing" will become the "a**r**t of writing"- that I will reach a level of articulation that looks/feels like the work of a craftsman.
### Why get the why out of the way early
I find that people are often interested in the why- in fact I have also often been more interested in the Why. But, as Louis C.K. correctly reminds us, the whys can be never ending and I think it is a question that shows little evolution in most cases. Which is what makes the [comparison C.K. makes to children's obsession with asking the never-ending why](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vajoYW9p5l0&t=41s) so perfect.
But they are also self-perpetuating and never-ending. So, I would much rather focus on the "what" and "how" questions- they follow the first couple of "why"s. They are also much easier to action upon than "why"s and, in my opinion, reach more clearly defined "why"s in subsequent iterations.
