- It is hard to categorise ideas when one is thinking across disciplines but I will attempt to do so anyway. This stems from a conversation with Preet and Joey.
- Ideas begin (and make it into the wild?) as:
- prototypes of engineering things, which can also become finished products;
- theories and hypotheses;
- working drafts of articles, books,
- In this vein, any of the following qualify as ideas:
- prototypes: Linux, WhatsApp, JupyterNotebooks,
- hypotheses: Newton's Laws of Motion, Darwinian evolution; and
- working drafts: a joke, or a book.
- This varied list is purely to highlight the fundamental notion that ideas have a broad span and reach.
- The ideas that never scale are not transformative in the same manner- which does not mean that the ideas are not good nor potentially impactful.
