- There's another really good quote from Chomsky where he says:
> If you believe in freedom of speech, then you believe in freedom of speech for the things that you don't like. Otherwise, you don't believe in freedom of speech.
- He talks about state censorship of a Frech academic- a Holocaust denier– who said gas chambers were never used. Now obviously it's not true but Chomsky, despite his Jewish heritage, defended this man's right to have ideas that are in opposition to his and also facts. Freedom of speech is, thus, exercising the option to say the wrong thing.
- Chomsky values equality over what is appropriate or correct- which doesn’t sit well with the woke, who agree with him on many other things.
- Chomsky isn’t worried about being right, I think- I believe he is more concerned with having a consistent worldview.
